In order to maintain our high-level of service based on our unique one-on-one cage-free concept and to ensure a stress-free calm spa environment, we can only accomodate a finite amount of grooms per day.

  • The Uptown Dog Grooming policy --

Booking Appointments:

  • We DO NOT accept same-day walk-in grooms due to our busy schedule.

We would like to remind everyone that we require advanced notification for all grooming appointments with us.

  • Weekday appointments fill up quickyly, so please book 3-4 days in advance.
 
  • Weekend appointments are in high-demand, so please pre-book a minimum 5+ days in advance.
 
  • The week leading up to LONG-WEEKENDS & HOLIDAY grooms MUST be booked up to 2-weeks in advance.

*X-MAS HOLIDAY BOOKINGS WILL BEGIN IN EARLY OCTOBER, WITH REGULAR CLIENTELE GIVEN PREFERENCE DUE TO THEIR CONTINUED SUPPORT AND LOYALTY. BASED ON PAST EXPERIENCES, THE LAST 2-WEEKS LEADING UP UNTIL X-MAS WILL BE FULLY BOOKED WITH NO EXCEPTIONS -- SO BOOK AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE!

We will do our best to accomodate everyone's grooming needs, however due to our one-on-one setup we may not be able to fulfil every single requirement.

SERVICE RATES:

Our current grooming rate is based on an hourly pro-rated service structure.

Most breeds can be completed between an hour (1hr.) to an hour and fifteen minutes (1hr+15mins) on average, whereas there are exceptions requiring up to an hour and a half (1hr + 30mins), depending on any and/or all of the following variables: size and coat condition, and temperament of the dog.

GRACE PERIOD:

A grace period of 15-minutes is given to each scheduled drop-off  & pick-up times, on the day of the grooming appointment.

15-MINUTE RULE:

If you show up 15-minutes (or later) from the scheduled start time, we will NOT be able to groom your pooch if we have another groom scheduled after your time slot.

It is simply impossible to make up the time required to finish the groom properly, before the start of the next client. -- A reschedule will need to be arranged & confirmed with us.

We take pride in ensuring all grooms are completed properly and in a timely manner, and it would be unfair to inconvenience the next booked appointment therefore we hope you understand why we must enforce the 15-minute rule.

-- Promptness is therefore encouraged!

The Fine Print:

*LATENESS:

Additional charges will be incurred, in addition to our standard grooming rates.

*Daycare fees will be added to final hourly rate, if pickup grace period is surpassed (unless advanced notice is pre-arranged and agreed upon before grooming session).

Daycare charges are based on a fair industry rate of $10 per 30 minutes per dog.

REFERRALS:

All Uptown Dog grooming clients are eligible to receive $5 off toward their dogs next groom, for every new referral which have their fur-baby brought to us for a full grooming session!

New client(s) must complete their groom, in order for referer to be credited accordingly!

NO SHOWS:

There are times when emergencies arise which prevents a scheduled appointment from being fulfilled, however it is the responsibility of the owner to notify us ASAP of such events, otherwise a No-Show may be recorded lead to a decision of prohibiting any future grooms at The Uptown Dog.

CANCELLATIONS / CHANGES:

We understand there are times due to busy schedules or sudden events which happen, which cause a conflict between your personal/professional schedule overlapping with that of scheduled grooms.

We do allow changes/cancellations in previously scheduled grooming times, provided we are notified at least 24-hours notice.

HABITUAL CANCELLATIONS / CHANGES :

Habitual cancellations/changes on short-notice, it will result in no further future grooms at The Uptown Dog.

OUR RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE:

The Uptown Dog will enforce our policies, since we care deeply about the well-being of all the pooches (and their owners) who come to us.

We strongly suggest seeking professional grooming services elsewhere if the below conditions apply:

  • Hostile / Aggressive Behaviour for Grooming - ie: Biting, Fighting
  • Hostility towards other dogs / people - ie: We do not have cages as part of our spa concept, therefore it is expected that dogs must be socialable and do not pose any threat to others.
  • Temperamental Behaviour - ie: Excessive Screaming / Crying / Writhing (Squirmish)
  • Habitually Matted - ie: It is the responsibility of the owner/care-giver to regularly brush / de-matt the dogs' coat, otherwise it is can become extremely painful and can cause health concerns (bruising, skin lesions, maggots).

We reserve the right to refuse any and/or all future grooms for your pooch if any of the above scenarios apply.

Additional Fee for Difficult Handling is $30.00 will be added to the final total.

Shavedown Fee for an excessively matted dog is $40.00 and will be added to the final total.
